Belly Dance Basics
Shimmies, traveling steps, turns, dance combinations, zills (finger cymbals) and veil. Each class will include a warm up, movement review, dance combinations and cool down.
Belly Dance ‘Beyond’ Basics with Zills
Dance Combinations with zills (finger cymbals) and free- style dancing with zills. Each class will include a warm up, basic dance technique, zill patterns with dance, and cool down.
Veil
Dramatic veil movements, ideas for free-style veil, dance combinations and choreography. Each class will include a warm up, movement review, slow veil dancing, veil choreography and cool down.
Beyond Basics...Drum Rhythms
Dance to drum rhythms! Dance combinations for free-style dance and choreography. Each class will include a brief warm up, hip isolations, shimmies, dance combinations, choreography and cool down.
Costume Mini Workshop
Learn basic costume construction and design tips. Discover what costume style is best for you! You will learn how to create your own costume and/or know what to look for when purchasing one.
Cane
Learn how to twirl a cane! The cane will be used with the Saidi rhythm in fun class combinations/choreography. Each class will include a warm up, movement review, choreography with the cane and cool down.
Free-style & Rhythm
Develop your own dance routine! Starting with music selection, learn what is involved in planning your own show with an emphasis on creativity and presentation. There is an optional performance opportunity the last night of the session.
Evaluation/Review Workshop
Review the dance technique and dance combinations- basic technique, zills, veil, cane, drum, and free-style. Turn in your attendance records and notebooks during this workshop.
